#Bliss

"But there is good and reason in us, in human beings, with whom fortune plays, and we can be stronger than nature and fate, if only for a few hours. And we can draw close to one another in times of need, understand and love one another, and live to comfort each other. And sometimes, when the black depths are silent, we can do even more. We can stretch out a commanding hand and create things which were not there before and which, when they are created, continue to live without us."   Hermann Hesse- Nobel Prize 1946

It's time to create your legacy darlin'. Time to create memories. Time to create traditions. Time to create bliss. #Roar

This Thanksgiving season let's do something a bit different, shall we? Let's shake things up a bit...Actually, let's just wake up dammit. Seriously.

Wake up. Pay attention. Put our phones done. Breathe. See. Ponder. Wander. For I know all too well that not all who wander are lost. Smile.

When you do take time to smell the roses. Hell, even just smell the air. I guarantee you will smile. It's time to tap into all five senses--I dare you! I laugh every single day. I cry every single day. I get mad & frustrated every single day. Why? Because I'm paying attention.

Do you notice the double rainbow after a rain storm? The little kid playing with their fork at the restaurant making airplane noises? The man in his car playing air-guitar jammin' out? (I always try to guess the song). The little old lady needing help in the grocery store? The homeless man in the alley? The precious baby cooing?

You should. Notice. Again, wake up.
Be present. Be present to your surroundings. Be present in your life.

The tiniest of things can make you smile. Like the ladybug tickling your arm....did you waft it away, thinking it was the nuisance of a fly? When we pay attention, we realize there is so much to be grateful for. Seneca said, "Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart."

Gratitude is a feeling we get when we receive kindness. Thankfulness is the natural impulse to express that feeling. Thanksgiving follows our impulse. #BAM

Thanksgiving opens doors & changes one's personality. You are either resentful, negative, or thankful. Thankful people want to give. They radiate happiness. Try it on for size; I promise it will fit perfectly!

Since we're blazin' our own trails sistas, why not blaze some new family traditions.

Here's a few ideas.

1.
Go on a nature walk with friends or family. Take a paper sack along. Collect treasures along the way. For each treasure one finds, share something you are thankful for. Or set out with a list of items to find, like a scavenger hunt.

2.
Get out the ol' plain white paper, add crayons or markers and...wait for it, Draw. Color! I guarantee someone will draw a "turkey hand". giggle. Better yet, get white butcher paper (in meat department) and use as table-cloths. Let the decorating begin.

3.
Have everyone in your family cross their arms. Take a poll who puts right arm over left.  Now have everyone switch arms. It's impossible. Lol.  Do the same thing interlocking your fingers, which thumb is on top? (Bet it's the same)

4.
Google homemade play-dough. Then make it! Better yet, make Gak. Here's the recipe, You're Welcome.

Materials
Elmers Glue (8 oz bottle of Elmers glue-all)
Borax (a powdered soap found in the grocery store)
Large mixing bowl
Plastic cup (8oz size works well)
Spoon
Measuring Cup
Food Coloring
Water

 Directions
1. Empty the entire bottle of glue into mixing bowl. Fill the empty bottle with warm water and shake, pouring the glue-water mixture into the mixing bowl and use the spoon to mix as well.
2. Add a drop or two of food coloring.

3. Measure 1/2 cup of warm water into the plastic cup and add a teaspoon of Borax powder to the water. Stir the solution, the powder will dissolve.

4. While stirring the glue in the mixing bowl, slowly add a little of the Borax solution. Immediately you'll feel the long strands of molecules starting to connect.  It's time to abandon the spoon and use your hands to do the serious mixing. Keep adding the Borax solution to the glue mixture (don't stop mixing) until you get a perfect batch of slime. You might like your slime more stringy while others like firm slime.

5. When you are finished, play away. Use cookie cutters, etc. Store in an air-tight container, or zip-lock baggie.

5.

Have everyone stand next to a wall pressing their entire arm (singular, meaning one arm. wink.) as hard as they can into the wall with their whole weight, from the shoulder down to their finger tips! Count for 1 minute saying "Mississippi" in-between each number. duh. Step away from the wall & relax your arm. Walla.

You might be thinking say whaaa? But try it. Do it. Make your own list. Share with others your unique bliss.

The point being, you are connecting with loved ones laughing. Making memories. Verses checking yo Instagram feed missing out on the magic.

Let us be grateful for the people who make us happy, for they are the fuel to our souls.

Happy Thanksgiving Beauties.
Make it a memorable one.

Love your Life.  Live your Dream.  Be Amazing.

XOXO
